Hardly Casual is an independently owned and operated video game podcast, media website, and all around infotainment outlet. Hardly Casual’s motto, “Always Be Inclusive”, is representative of the team’s desire to create a venue that gamers young, old, new, and experienced can be heard and respected, with a “no one left out” mentality.
On this episode of Hardly Casual, Jon is joined by special guest Brent Adams of EpicBattleCry, Outlaw Gamers Society, and Drive Home Breakdown podcasts.
As fathers, they cover topics from a gaming dads' perspective. The Division, Paragon, console revisions, VR feasibility as a gaming parent, briefly theorize on Nintendo NX, and how having children has altered their playstyle and philosophies.

Welcome to an all new episode of Hardly Casual, as Jon and Andy are joined by their new cohost, Kenny Hall! In this episode, the crew talks about:
Dark Souls III, Battleborn, Paragon, Ni-Oh, Alpha Demos, Final Fantasy XV, the death of Nosgoth and Everquest Next, Stardew Valley, and the 'value' of PlayStation Plus.
In this very special episode of Hardly Casual, Jon is joined by...John, that is, John Learned: author, teacher, and contributor to USgamer.net. Join Hardly Casual for a heavy, but hopefully uplifting, intelligent discussion on fighting games, cancer, John's book, video games as a coping device, the benefits & detriments of escapism, and much more!
Episode Layout: 0:00:00 -- Introductions & segment on Street Fighter 5 and the fighting game genre as a whole.
1:10:08 -- Segment on the "Souls" series and feelings on From Software.
1:47:25 -- Brief segway on podcasts
1:50:25 -- On John's upcoming book, his battle with cancer, games as a coping device.
In this solo-cast, Jon dives into what best defines No Man's Sky as an ideal, an original IP, and a game. Much secrecy has surrounded this title, but if one combines all the information provided by the trailers, interviews, and hands-on demonstrations; a clearer picture is painted of precisely what No Man's Sky is promising to be. THIS..could be a game changer!
